On April 12, State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration Commission approved the compulsory national standard of Electronic cigarette, which is now issued and will be implemented as of October 1, 2022. The release of the compulsory national standard of Electronic cigarette means the end of the production phase of China's Electronic cigarette without national standards for a long time, which is of great significance to the industry.
The national standard Electronic cigarette is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Tobacco Standardization, and the competent department is the China Tobacco. The reporter looked up the specific provisions of the mandatory national standard of Electronic cigarette and found that all Electronic cigarette products must be produced in accordance with the national standard, and the 101 additives allowed to be added in accordance with the national standard should be added in a limited amount. The concentration of nicotine in the atomized substance should not exceed 20mg/g, and the total amount of nicotine should not exceed 200mg.
At the same time, the mandatory national standard of Electronic cigarette strictly stipulates the release amount of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, Acrolein and other substances in the Electronic cigarette emissions, and requires that Electronic cigarette sets should have the function of preventing children from starting and the protection function of preventing accidental starting.
On March 11, the China Tobacco issued the "Electronic cigarette Management Measures" and the "Electronic cigarette National Standard (Second Draft for Comments)", proposing that from May 1, the sale of flavored Electronic cigarette other than tobacco flavor and Electronic cigarette that can add aerosols themselves will be completely prohibited.

Until October 2021, the status of this plan suddenly returned to "under review". On November 30, 2021, the national standard of Electronic cigarette (draft for comment) was released, making mandatory specifications on Electronic cigarette cigarette sets, aerosols, releases, product marks, etc.
